Combine your solar system with a heat pump

With a solar system you produce the electricity for the heat pump yourself cheaply and sustainably with the solar system on your own roof. And thanks to a buffer tank that stores hot water, you have hot water and cozy warmth around the clock. Even at night when the sun isn't shining.

In the case of a new installation, the photovoltaic system can be installed directly in combination with the heat pump. If you already have a heat pump, many models can be retrofitted.

A heat pump uses electricity to run the compressor and fans. This electricity need can be partially be provided by your solar system, especially for your usage water needs.

This means that instead of being fed back into the grid, much of the surplus solar energy will supply the heat pump with solar power. Even better, many new heat pumps are reversible in order to cool your home in the summer when your solar systems produces the most power. The most efficient boilers that can be connected to a solar system are heat pump boilers that are built to communicate with your systems inverter. You can also connect a normal electric boiler and even a boiler heated by oil and gas. In the latter two cases, you might need an extra heat rod and thermostat.
